Where Forever Begins

In Where Forever Begins, Timini, a wealthy Lagos businessman, dreams about the future. He still grieves his mother's death from cancer, and he refuses treatment for his own stage 2 gastric adenocarcinoma. He does not want to put anyone through that pain. His grandmother tries to set him up with women, and his aunt Ebere cooks for him and keeps an eye on his health. Ebere's niece Oluchi arrives in Lagos for a job interview, but the job falls through, and Ebere lies to Oluchi's mother that Oluchi got it. Oluchi brings Timini a meal, and that is where their connection begins. Timini is impressed by her cooking, and she starts bringing him food regularly. He uses his connections to get her a job, and they grow close, but he stays emotionally distant and tells her he cannot be with anyone. His ex Ashley shows up, and he coldly ends things, saying everyone's term expires. One night, Timini and Oluchi sleep together, and when a condom breaks, Timini flies to Port Harcourt to give Oluchi a morning-after pill. She is hurt by his distance, so he finally reveals his cancer diagnosis and his decision to die without treatment. Oluchi refuses to accept his decision. She gives an impassioned speech about his mother's sacrifice and tells him he is spitting on her memory. Timini tells her to get out, and he apologizes and visits the oncology centre, where he decides to begin treatment. He tells Oluchi he wants to fight for her, their unborn child, and himself. Treatment leaves him unresponsive in a hospital bed, and Oluchi desperately calls his name to wake him. One year later, Timini and Oluchi marry with their baby daughter present. In his wedding vows, Timini tells Oluchi she gave him a reason to live and that every second is a gift. He promises to fight for every moment with her, and the couple celebrates with their child as the film ends.
