In "Water And Wine," Susan pays for everything for her boyfriend Jide and his two siblings. After a stressful day, she gets into a car accident and angrily yells at the other driver, Joshua. Later, Susan’s job depends on getting a big contract from a CEO she has never met. She goes to beg for the contract and discovers the CEO is Joshua, the man from the car accident. She apologizes, and he gives her the contract. They become friends, and Joshua starts to have feelings for her. On her birthday, Susan hopes Jide will finally propose. Instead, Jide forgets her birthday completely. It is Joshua who gives her flowers and takes her out. Jide gets jealous and warns Joshua to stay away. Susan then discovers a terrible truth: Jide was never really poor. He has been hiding money, bought a expensive property, and even took the business contract she worked so hard to get. He tells Susan he lied to teach her a lesson because she refused to stop working. Heartbroken, Susan realizes she wasted eight years, including three years fully supporting a man who was cheating and lying to her. Susan leaves Jide. After the breakup, Jide’s business finally collapses for real. Joshua promises to wait for Susan while she heals from the pain. The movie ends with Susan starting a new life, free from Jide’s deception and open to a honest future with Joshua, who truly values her.
