"Lessons Of The Heart"follows Amaka, who is taking Jamb lessons from her teacher Chijioke, whom she secretly loves. Her life gets complicated when a friendly corper named Tosin becomes close to Chijioke, making Amaka jealous. Meanwhile, a man named Uche meets Amaka's mother and decides he wants to marry Amaka. Key spoilers: Amaka finally confesses her love to Chijioke, but he does not reply. Heartbroken, she stops attending classes and decides to give Uche a chance. Chijioke later discovers Tosin already has a boyfriend. He visits Amaka's mother and tells a big lie. He says Amaka is suicidal and will kill herself if forced to marry Uche. Because of this lie, Amaka's mother cancels the marriage plans with Uche and asks Chijioke to give Amaka private lessons. Amaka finds out about Chijioke's lie and confronts him. He admits he lied because he loves her and did not want to lose her to Uche. Amaka realizes Chijioke only came back to her after finding out Tosin had a boyfriend. Feeling betrayed by his dishonesty, Amaka decides to rely on herself. She rejects both Chijioke and Uche. In the end, she focuses on her studies alone, successfully passes her Jamb exams, and graduates from university on her own terms.
