EARLY LIFE

Yaseen Auwal started his filmmaking career as an actor around 1994 under Sarauniya Film Production in Kano. He later decided to focus on being behind the camera, transitioning to producing in 2000 and becoming a director in 2001. He received mentorship from director and producer Ishaq Sidi Ishaq. He is a Mass Communication graduate from Bayero University Kano (BUK).

CAREER

Yaseen Auwal is a prominent Kannywood director and the Managing Director of UK Entertainment. He is known for directing films such as Ruwan Dare (2018), Gani Ga Wane (2013), Rariya (2017), and Wani Gari (2013). He was awarded Best Director at the MTN/Kannywood Awards in 2014 and was also honored with a Kwankwasiyya Award. Auwal is credited with inspiring and being the first director for talents like Rahama Sadau. He once stepped down a 'Boko Haram' themed movie due to industry concerns but intended to modify and produce it later. He also utilized a promotional stunt involving actors Sadiq Sani Sadiq and Rahama Sadau for his film 'Nisan Kwana'.
