Biography

EARLY LIFE

Wofai Samuel was born on September 18, 1990, in Calabar, Cross River State, Nigeria. She began her media career at age 14 in 2004 as a lead anchor on a state broadcast station in Cross River, prior to her university studies. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology and Environmental Biology from the University of Calabar and an Advanced Diploma in Human Resources and Organizational Management from the University of Lagos (2019-2020).

CAREER

Wofai Samuel's career spans over a decade in broadcasting, international relations, and trade facilitation. From 2009 to 2012, she produced television programs for NTA Lagos and NTA International. She held roles as a brand executive and lead anchor at a Lagos-based television channel in 2013, and as a live television anchor and newscaster in 2014. From 2015, she began chairing conversations for international and multilateral organizations, including the African Export-Import Bank. She served as Head of Oil and Gas Communications at the Foreign Investment Network (2019–2020) and Director of Communications at the UK-Liberia Chamber of Commerce (2021–2022). She joined the Nigerian-American Chamber of Commerce (NACC) in August 2022 as Director of Communications, Government Relations, and Advocacy, and was appointed Acting Director-General from April 2023 to October 2025. In this role, she organized inbound and outbound trade missions between Nigeria and U.S. states and facilitated business matchmaking for numerous Nigerian companies. She also served as Editor at Africa Energy & Infrastructure Magazine, Publicity Secretary of the United States Government Exchange Alumni Association in Lagos, and as a Fellow and Communications Chair for the Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI) West Africa/Nigeria cohort. She holds a board membership on the World Agriculture Forum Council in the Netherlands.
