Biography
Victor Omoze Eyike is an award-winning Nigerian filmmaker, screenwriter, and multimedia journalist based in Lagos, Nigeria. He is recognized for his contributions to both independent narrative cinema and social impact journalism. He wrote and directed the thriller drama series Road Trip (originally a short film commissioned by the Accelerate TV Filmmaker Mentorship Lab). It won Best Director and Best Short Film at the NEMCEA Awards and was later acquired by Tubi for streaming in the US and Canada, as well as Apple TV. His social impact documentary exploring the discrimination faced by practitioners of Yoruba traditional religion in Nigeria was nominated for Best Social Impact Documentary at the Yora International Film Awards in Kenya. He wrote and directed the drama film Anwuli, featuring a character living with myoclonus in Lagos. He has more than 10 film titles to his credit, including writing My Wedding Day and starring as an actor in the short film Love in Transition. He also won the "Popcentral DStv Best Story" award in 2021. As an investigative journalist and contributor, he focuses heavily on human rights, cultural preservation, and environmental issues. His written work and reporting have been published in prominent international and local outlets like Rolling Stone Africa, BellaNaija, HumAngle, Minority Africa, and TechCabal. His notable investigative topics include covering the impact of oil spills by Shell in the Niger Delta and documenting traditional Benin Bronze casters.
