Biography

EARLY LIFE

Ulan Sango was born and raised in Nigeria in a highly educated and exposed family with political affiliations. Growing up, her parents instilled strong principles regarding faith, integrity, and good governance, which carved the path for her ideologies. Valuing quality education, her father sent her older brother and sister to the American University of Nigeria (AUN), and Ulan later followed in their footsteps]. While studying for her core major in politics, she leveraged the liberal arts structure of AUN to explore her artistic side, taking classes in communication, multimedia, and public speaking.

CAREER

Ulan Sango describes herself as a social activist who utilizes storytelling and film as her primary medium of communication. In 2018, while holding a full-time job and residing in Australia, she founded The Rain Hub, a platform designed for open and honest discussions regarding Nigeria's socio-political and economic issues. By 2019, she began scriptwriting, fully stepping into her calling as a media advocate. She gained recognition as a rising movie producer with her short film The Radio, which highlights personal responsibility and the severe repercussions of poor governance and lack of infrastructure in Nigeria. She uses the film to urge citizens to demand competency and accountability from political leaders. In addition to writing and producing, Ulan has an acting credit in the 2023 film Facade, where she worked as an actress, writer, and associate producer.

PERSONAL LIFE

Ulan is highly passionate about faith, socio-economic reform, and national security. For several years, she resided in Australia where she completed her master's degree before deciding to take up media and advocacy full-time. During her leisure time, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, sharing meals and conversations. When she is alone, she relaxes by exercising and binge-watching TV series and Nollywood movies. Details concerning her romantic relationships or marital status are kept out of the public eye.
