Biography

CAREER

Ukinebo Dare began her career in 2005 in the IT department of Oando Plc, rising to System Administrator for Windows. In 2010, she founded the Poise Graduate Finishing Academy (PGFA), an employer-aligned academy with an 87% employment rate, training over 40,000 young people in employability skills and job placements. She served as a Regional Advisory Board Member for West Africa for the Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI) and as Programme Director of EkoBits, an ICT and digital design academy. Currently, she is the Head, Industry Engagement and Ecosystem Development at the Mastercard Foundation, where she leads programs to enable 3 million young Africans to transition into dignified work. Previously, she was Head of Transitions at the Foundation. Prior to that, she was the Managing Director and later Board Chair of EdoJobs (Edo State Skills Development Agency) in Nigeria, where she led a multi-sector transformation in skills, employment, technology, creative, and agricultural ecosystems, impacting over 250,000 people. Under her leadership at EdoJobs, she oversaw the design of the state's flagship skills and jobs initiative, developed the policy and legal framework for the Edo State Skills Development Agency, and established partnerships for job centers and technical/digital skills training for over 50,000 young people. She also led the creation and scaling of Edo Innovates, an innovation ecosystem, convened the Edo State International Film Festival (ESIFF), established the Victor Uwaifo Creative Hub, and supported rural farmers through the Edo Food and Agricultural Cluster and artisans through Edo Production Centres. She also served as Director of Volunteer Services for the 20th National Sports Festival - Edo 2020. She contributes to leadership and institutional governance as a Member of the Governing Council of Benson Idahosa University and on the Board of EBH Africa. Ukinebo is also the author of '40 First Jobs' and 'Wake Up, This Is Your Life', and a producer of the 'Project Your Poise Webseries'.

PERSONAL LIFE

Ukinebo Dare is happily married and a mother of two children. She is deeply committed to faith-led initiatives, including Truth Headquarters, Teen Bible Adventures, Pathways Journal, Epairo Voices, and Fabric of Legacy, which focus on spiritual growth and faith-centered identity.
