Born on July 14, 1983, in Abia State, Nigeria, Uche Elendu hails from a family of six, being the firstborn with three younger brothers. Her father is a retired civil servant and businessman, while her mother is a teacher. Elendu pursued higher education at Imo State University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in International Relations.

In January 2012, Uche Elendu married Walter Ogochukwu Igweanyimba in Owerri, Imo State. The union was blessed with two daughters. However, the couple eventually divorced, and Elendu has since focused on her career and raising her children. Elendu has been open about her battle with endometriosis, a medical condition that caused her severe pain for seven years. She has shared her experiences publicly to raise awareness about the condition. In November 2023, Elendu faced public scrutiny when fellow actress Doris Ogala accused her of taking a widow with five children to court over her late husband’s properties. Ogala questioned the legitimacy of Elendu’s marriage to the deceased, citing discrepancies in dates and documentation. This incident sparked discussions within the Nollywood community and among fans.
