Biography
EARLY LIFE
Nigerian born Tolu Sholanke moved to Manchester at the age of 4, where he developed a passion for photography. He pursued Art and Design courses at college and later studied photography at the University of Bolton, earning a BA Hons.
CAREER
Tolu Sholanke's work experience includes being an assistant photographer for a young people’s theatre and a film academy project website. He has also delivered panorama workshops as a freelancer with Peshkar Productions and worked as an assistant camera crew with Short Form Films. He was a producer and editor for the 2014 movie 'A Few Good Men'. His long-term ambition is to run his own professional studio focusing on portraiture and unique still-life projects.
PERSONAL LIFE
Tolu Sholanke enjoys diverse photography genres, including landscapes, cityscapes, architecture, and portrait photography. He is particularly interested in still life and studio effects, with a keen eye for lighting, shadow, detail, and macro photography. His recent project involved creating life-like scenes with miniature models and real backgrounds, culminating in a 16-image exhibition and a children's storybook.
