EARLY LIFE

Thelma Okoduwa Ojiji was born on March 9, 1978, in Enugu State, Nigeria, to parents from Uromi, Esan, Edo State. She hails from the Esan ethnic group and was raised in Uromi. Her upbringing was described as fun yet structured, with a strict environment where obedience was paramount. She studied Computer Science and obtained a diploma in Theatre Arts from the University of Port Harcourt.

CAREER

Thelma Okoduwa began her acting career in the early 2000s, entering Nollywood shortly after completing her studies. Her debut was in the film Fast Moves. A pivotal moment was her role as Joy in the soap opera Treasures, directed by Chico Ejiro. Her breakthrough solidified around 2012 with her supporting role as Linda in the romantic drama Mr & Mrs., which earned her a nomination for Best Actress in a Supporting Role at the 8th Africa Movie Academy Awards. She has featured in popular television series including Tinsel, Beautiful Liars, Treasures, Spider, Family Ties, and played 'Arinola Cardoso' in Africa Magic's Hush, which she described as her most challenging role. Thelma Okoduwa married Onya Ojiji on April 4, 2009, in a private court ceremony. Following her marriage, she adopted the name Thelma Okoduwa-Ojiji and relocated to Abuja to establish a family home, temporarily stepping back from acting to focus on motherhood. She has two children, a daughter born in December 2009 and a son born in December 2011. She describes herself as a God-fearing, hard-working, and lovable individual who prioritizes comfort and modesty in her personal style.
