Tatem Spearman

EARLY LIFE

Photography has been part of Tatem Spearman's life for three decades. Her first memories include opening a package of freshly developed film photos. In middle school, she took her first accredited photo editing course and began paid work restoring damaged photos. She participated in photography contests and sold some of her work. In high school, she learned to develop black and white film photos.

CAREER

In early adulthood, Tatem Spearman worked as a lighting technician on movies and TV shows. She invested in professional lighting equipment, opened her studio (Spearman Studios), produced short films, collaborated with various artists, and traveled for photography work. Her journey in the entertainment industry began when a friend sent her a casting call, leading her to work as an extra and set clear career goals. She worked in many departments to learn filmmaking, becoming an IATSE member in Local 479 and later joining SAG-AFTRA. She is known for her work in the Camera and Electrical Department, as an actress, and as a stunt woman. Tatem Spearman appeared briefly in the Nollywood-Hollywood collaboration film A Star in Heaven (2017).
