Biography
EARLY LIFE
Born on 3 February 1941 in Lagos as the first of twin girls. Educated at Mt Carmel Convent School and Methodist Girls' High School in Lagos. Studied Business Administration and cosmetology in London, obtaining a Higher National Diploma from Hendon College of Technology in 1969.
CAREER
Acting debut in 1966 in Wole Soyinka's The Lion and the Jewel at the Royal Court Theatre. Trained at Guildhall School of Music and Drama. Performed in numerous stage productions, television shows, and Nigerian films including Tinsel, Oloibiri, and King of Boys: The Return of the King. Pioneer editor of Africa Woman magazine.
PERSONAL LIFE
First marriage to David Akinduro ended in divorce due to domestic violence. Married Thomas Lycett in a long-lasting marriage. Became a mother at age 15.
