EARLY LIFE
Stanlee Ohikhuare is a trained Fine Artist and Philosophical Surrealist. He obtained a bachelor's degree in Fine Arts specializing in painting from the University of Benin and a National Diploma in General Arts from Yaba College of Technology, Lagos. He is also an extraordinary Painter, Sculptor, Graphic Artist, Illustrator, and Animator. His career in filmmaking began by working as a graphic artist in an advertising agency, then freelancing as an illustrator/storyboard artist. After teaching himself 3D animation, he provided 3D animation solutions to advertising agencies in Nigeria.

Stanlee Aideloje Ohikhuare, known professionally as Stanlee Ohikhuare, is a Nigerian filmmaker, cinematographer, and writer, known for producing short films. He practices the Baroque Art movement and often experiments with the themes of Chiaroscuro and sfumato in his film works. He is a self-taught 3D animator, graphic artist, video editor, visual effects creator, and stunts director. A surrealist, his works exhibit audacious fantasy and artistic juxtaposition, drawing inspiration from dreams and fantasy. Often referred to as an 'Auteur' due to his unique approach, his style and technicality are consistently noticeable across all his productions. He is a photography enthusiast and values strong, compelling visuals and innovative cinematography over excessive dialogue, championing visual storytelling in Nigerian cinema. He enjoys being behind the camera to ensure visual fidelity and pays close attention to detail in his movies. He studied the works of great filmmakers and ventured into photography as a stepping stone to cinematography. He retired from advertising to embark on 'Lifespan', Nigeria's first feature-length 3D animation project (2003-2006), where he perfected his directing philosophy. From 2007/2008, he focused on live-action filmmaking. He has successfully blended motion picture and fine art with a deep-seated surreal philosophy. Admired as the 'Light Bender' for his inspiring lighting design and cinematography, his creative expression explores dreams, fantasy, thrillers, and horror. His artistic filmmaking approach often incorporates social advocacy, effortlessly addressing themes of pain, conscience, suffering, shock, and the inexplicable. He is also a creative entrepreneur, consultant, inventor, and the Artistic Director of the annual Realtime International Film Festival (RTF).
