EARLY LIFE
Sope Dirisu (full name Ṣọpẹ́ Dìrísù) was born in Edgware, London, England. He is of Nigerian (Yoruba) descent. From a young age, he developed a strong interest in acting and performance. He trained at the prestigious Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA) in London, where he honed his craft in classical theatre.

Sope Dirisu is a British-Nigerian actor known for his powerful performances in both television and film. He began his career in theatre, performing with the Royal Shakespeare Company and the National Theatre. He made his feature film debut in 2016 with roles in Sand Castle, Criminal, and The Huntsman: Winter's War. His major breakthrough came in 2020 when he was cast as Elliot Finch (also known as Elliot Carter), the lead role in the hit crime drama series Gangs of London (Sky Atlantic / AMC).
