Biography
EARLY LIFE
Sobe was born in Enugu, Southeast Nigeria. He is the last of six children. He developed a passion for filmmaking and began his professional journey in the Nigerian film industry around 2015.
PERSONAL LIFE
In 2014, Umeh married Isioma Concilia, with whom he subsequently moved to Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada. He maintains a relatively private personal life outside of his professional work.
CAREER
Sobe started his filmmaking journey in 2015 when he co-produced his first feature-length film Bad Drop with Actor Producer Stan Nze, which also served as his feature length Directorial Debut. The film went ahead to win 2 awards and many nominations. He is a versatile filmmaker best known for directing and producing several notable Nollywood films. He has worked extensively with ROK Studios and has gained international recognition. Notable credits include, Sorelle, Black Vision, Bad Drop, Amonye Bu Onye, The Surrogate, My Brother’s Wife (Austerity), Season Of The Vow. He is recognized for his work in both Nigerian and Canadian film circles and continues to direct and produce projects that blend cultural storytelling with modern narratives.
