Biography
EARLY LIFE
Shushu Abubakar, a native of Ikare Akoko, Ondo State, was born and raised in Ogun State. After her youth service, she worked at Globacom as a Call Centre Representative in 2011. She left in 2012 to become Head of Call Center Operations at Kiote Services. In September 2013, she joined Audi Center, under the umbrella of Stallion Motors Limited, as a Sale Advisor/Consultant.
CAREER
Her screen debut was in the 2020 Netflix movie 'Strain', a sickle cell-themed film, where she played the lead role. This role earned her recognition and nominations, including Best Actress in a Black Film at the International Black & Diversity Film Festival Canada – 2021 and Best Actress in a Leading Role (English) at the Best of Nollywood – 2021. She has starred in numerous movies and TV series such as 'The Two Aishas' (2023), 'Love and Crime' (2022), 'Dilemma' (2022), 'Jagaban (The last man standing)' (2022), 'Liberty Villa' (2022), 'The Shift (Honorable)' (2022), 'Iseju Meta Aye' (2022), 'Arole' (2021), 'Ogeere' (2023), 'Mayowa’s Cross', 'Dreaming of America', 'Divorce', and 'Ogo'. She is also known for her roles in 'Etutu' (2024) and 'The Journey' (2025).
PERSONAL LIFE
There are not many similarities between her real life and the characters she plays, aside from being a strong advocate for family and friend ties, which she believes is essential for a good actor to embody diverse characters.
