EARLY LIFE
Shola Thompson was born on September 1, 1983, in Lagos, Nigeria, where he also grew up. He pursued higher education at the University of Lagos, studying Mathematics Education, before transitioning into media and film. In 2006, he attended the Pencils Film and Television Institute (PEFTI) founded by Wale Adenuga, laying the foundation for his career in cinema.
CAREER
Thompson made his feature film directorial debut in 2024 with the psychological thriller Last Call. His sophomore feature, Pepper Soup was released in February 2026. he film explores themes of grief, resilience, family business, love, and neo-African identity through the story of a young man revitalizing his late mother’s restaurant into a premium pepper soup spot.
