Samantha Iwowo

Samantha Iwowo is a screenwriter, director, and researcher. She began her career as a commissioned screenwriter with M-Net, South Africa's largest cable network. She has written fifty published screenplays, including episodes of Nigeria's longest-running daily drama series, Tinsel (2008 - ongoing), and the internationally celebrated feature film Oloibiri (2016). She has also directed five films, including Go Get Milk (2015) and Articulations of Politics in Nigeria (2022). Dr. Iwowo is a Principal Academic in Directing Drama for Film and Television at Bournemouth University and her doctoral research in film studies was undertaken at the University of Bristol, focusing on Postcolonialism and Neo-Nollywood.
