Biography

EARLY LIFE

Robert Miano was born in New York City and raised in the Southeast Bronx neighborhood. He is of Italian descent. At the age of fifteen, he was discovered by a talent agent who heard him singing with a doo-wop group, leading to a recording. He later landed a lead role in the play 'Satyricon' at the Stratford Shakespearean Festival in Ontario, Canada, and spent several years traveling Europe as a troubadour, performing musical acts.

CAREER

Upon returning to New York City, Robert Miano studied method acting with Lee Strasberg and Warren Robertson. He gained attention from numerous directors in the mid-70s. After relocating to Los Angeles, he honed his craft as a character actor for over thirty years, appearing in hundreds of feature films and numerous television programs, often known for playing mobster characters. Notable roles include Joe Scully on the soap opera 'General Hospital', Alphonse 'Sonny Red' Indelicato in the 1997 film 'Donnie Brasco', a mobster character called 'Frankie Eyes' on 'Star Trek: Deep Space Nine', and real-life Mafia boss Vito Genovese in the 1999 television film 'Lansky'. He has also worked as a producer and writer, and dedicates time to coaching actors. Robert Miano officially bridged the gap into the Nigerian film industry by co-starring in the highly anticipated Nollywood-Hollywood action thriller Muna (2019).
