EARLY LIFE

Preston Lopez was born in the Dominican Republic and moved to New York City at the age of two, growing up in Washington Heights. He faced economic challenges during his teenage and early twenties, holding numerous jobs. He attended and graduated from The High School of Art and Design in Manhattan and later Kingsborough College, where he studied music for a short period.

CAREER

Preston Lopez is a multifaceted artist with careers in music, acting, art, and entrepreneurship. He began his music career in 2002 with the album 'Urban Ecstasy' and has since released several albums, blending hip-hop with Latin rhythms, rock, and ballads. As an actor, he has appeared in TV shows and films such as 'A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood', 'FBI', 'El Capo', 'Law & Order: SVU', 'Saturday Night Live', 'Gotham', 'The Undoing', 'Pose', and 'Luke Cage'. He also produced and starred in his own 'The Preston Lopez Show' for over 29 years. As a painter, his works include 'Scars of a Native', 'Negroes Scraps', and 'Anatomy of a Brainiac', blending Neo-Expressionism, Pop Art, and Primitivism. He is the founder of Crackl Cookies, a gourmet snack brand, and has launched a merchandise store. Lopez is also a producer and editor, working on projects like 'Las Aventuras de Pancho Manguera', 'I Still Remember', 'The Spirit of Ruchel Leah', and the 'Erotico' home DVD series. Preston Lopez appeared in the 2018 film titled The Undoing, which is a production specifically from the Nigerian film industry (Nollywood).
