Peter Kreil

Peter Kreil is a Director of Photography, fluent in German, Spanish, and English. He is an award-winning Austrian cinematographer and director of photography (DoP) celebrated for his extensive work in international cinema, particularly within the Nigerian film industry (Nollywood). He is best known as the cinematographer behind the historical epic Amina (2021), which won Best Overall Movie at the 2022 Africa Magic Viewers' Choice Awards (AMVCA). He is recognized for blending natural lighting with elements of magical realism. Kreil has built a diverse portfolio across feature films, documentaries, high-fashion films, and commercials. He has worked on Amina (2021), 77: The FESTAC Conspiracy, A Smile, a Wink and a Tear (2023), Dambe (2025), and Iwa Akwa (2025).
