EARLY LIFE
A graduate of Elizade University with a degree in Performing and Film Arts, Oluwatobi Deborah Ahmed was honored as the best graduating student in 2020. Her pursuit of excellence led her to further training at the Multichoice Talent Factory, Henley Business School, Pan Atlantic University, and the New York Film Academy.
CAREER
Oluwatobi Deborah Ahmed, popularly known as Strange Energy, is a Nigerian filmmaker and storyteller. She is the founder of Strange Energy Productions, an independent production company. With over 20 credits in short films, documentaries and experimentals, her debut feature as a director is an Africa Magic commissioned project titled 'Her Dark Past' streaming on Showmax, which won an AMVCA award as best Multichoice Talent Factory in the 10th edition of the AMVCA awards. Deborah's expertise spans directing, behind-the-scenes production, and video editing. She draws creative inspiration from everyday experiences, viewing art as a reflection of life. Her contributions have been recognized by the Directors Guild of Nigeria, affirming her impact in the film industry.
