Biography

EARLY LIFE

Olawale Adetula discovered computers in 1995, obtained his Microsoft certification in 2000, and by 2002, at age 17, had already started his third business. He studied Systems Engineering at the University of Lagos.

CAREER

While at the University of Lagos, Olawale co-founded Ice Box Studios, a software development company that grew to become one of the largest web development companies in Nigeria by 2009, raising close to $800,000. He later pursued a Master's degree in Media and Communications at Pan Atlantic University, which rekindled his creative side, leading him to exit Ice Box Studios. He worked in advertising and corporate marketing, including a role at Jumia starting in 2012. He founded The Naked Convos (TNC), an online platform for young people to express themselves through stories, which later rebranded to TNC Africa in 2021. Under TNC Africa, he produced the AMVCA-nominated web series 'Little Black Book'. Adetula also worked for Guinness for almost four years, including a role as Digital Lead for Africa, and is based in London. He is also developing two tech products focused on using data and machine learning for media engagement.

Olawale Adetula is a father who manages to juggle his entrepreneurial ventures with a high-level corporate job.
