EARLY LIFE
Olamide Akinmolayan was raised in Lagos and Ondo town. He lived with his grandmother in Ondo town, which shaped his storytelling and taught him about African values, culture, and religion. He was born into a family of entertainers, with his father working as a cinematographer and his mother as a troupe dancer at the national theatre.
CAREER
Olamide Akinmolayan is a filmmaker, director, stand-up comedian, and broadcaster. He was inspired to pursue filmmaking by his father, and his passion for comedy was fueled by listening to the works of the late Gbenga Adeboye. He is known for producing films that depict African cultures, particularly the Ondo culture. His work includes the film 'Balokun', for which he received an AMVCA nomination, and the romantic comedy 'Apeke Femi', released in March 2023. He also mentioned a forthcoming project he is proud of, featuring notable actors like Sola Sobowale, Afeez Oyetoro, Yomi Fash Lanso, Olumide Oworu, and Bukunmi Oluwasina.
