Odira Nwobu survived a serious road accident in July 2025. He faced controversy in 2017 for posting a video of his late colleague Okwy Chukwujekwu (Main Bossman)'s lifeless body, which drew criticism, though some saw it as an expression of grief. Odira Nwobu was born on May 24, 1982, in Enugu State, Nigeria, and hailed from Umubelle Village in Awka, Awka South Local Government Area, Anambra State. He was of Igbo ethnicity and grew up in Enugu State. Details about his early education are limited, though some reports indicate he studied Theatre Arts at Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University (formerly Anambra State University). His passion for comedy and acting emerged early, leading him to enter the entertainment industry shortly after secondary school.
CAREER
Odira Nwobu was a prominent Nigerian Nollywood actor, comedian, content creator, and entertainer, best known for his comedic roles and relatable skits. He made his professional acting debut in the film Joseph the Dreamer and went on to appear in over 60 Nollywood movies, including Goat Lover (2011) and Goat Lover 2 (2011). Often typecast due to his babyface and humorous persona, he successfully transitioned to digital content creation on platforms like Instagram (@odira_nwobu), TikTok, YouTube, and Facebook, where he built hundreds of thousands of followers with exaggerated, everyday comedy skits. He also worked as a model, featuring in advertisements and music videos for artists such as Phyno, Flavour, Bracket, Zoro, and Kcee.
PERSONAL LIFE
Odira Nwobu was married. He first wed Chinenye in a traditional ceremony on May 4, 2021, in Lagos, but the marriage ended in divorce due to incompatibility. He later married Giftee Nwobu and shared wedding photos on social media, describing her as his "better half." The couple welcomed a daughter, Christabel Amarachi Nwobu, on December 7, 2023.
