EARLY LIFE
Nolwazi Shange grew up in Clermont, Durban, South Africa, raised by her grandparents. She was introduced to reading at a young age by her grandfather, a Reader’s Digest subscriber. She was also an athlete, specializing in 100 meters, and comes from a family of musicians, starting her career as a singer.
CAREER
Nolwazi Shange made her professional acting debut in 'A Place Called Home' in 2006, playing the character Precious, for which she won a Best Supporting Actress SAFTA in 2010. She is widely known for her starring role as Mbali 'Lady M' Kubeka on the e.tv soapie Scandal! (2021-2023). Her other notable roles include guest starring as Zinhle in 'Mtunzini.com' (2009), a starring role as Dimpho Miya in 'Soul City' (2010), a recurring role as Kwezi in 'Single Guyz' (2013), and the role of Kgomotso on 'Zabalaza' (2013). She also appeared in 'Intersexions', 'Mzansi Love', 'Thula's Vine', 'Ak'siSpaza', 'Mina Nawe' as Sheila, and 'Mzali Wami' as Sibongile (Seasons 1 and 2, 2021-2022). She had a recurring role on 'The River' as Minister Patience Mhlongo (Seasons 2 and 3, 2019-2021) and later as Gugu (Season 5, 2022). Beyond acting, Nolwazi has pursued other ventures, including a bachelor's degree in marketing communications, working in the Tech industry, and is credited as a casting director. She is also a Producer, TikTok Music Partnerships Manager, and the Mother of Africazi Media.
PERSONAL LIFE
Nolwazi Shange is a mother to a daughter and emphasizes the importance of therapy for self-growth. She recently graduated with a bachelor's degree in marketing communications in May 2023, expressing pride in her academic achievement.
