EARLY LIFE
Born Gift Iyumame Uwame in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, to Ekpeye parents. Grew up in a strict Christian household as the third of six children. Father involved in military medicine died when she was a child. Raised by mother in the Seventh-day Adventist Church. Trained to sing songs by her mother at age 4. Completed primary and secondary education in Abuja. Earned a degree in Theatre Arts from the University of Port Harcourt. Owned businesses including vehicle leasing company, restaurant, tailor shop, and beauty salon. Part of Port Harcourt's music scene, performing at nightclubs and bars.
CAREER
Moved to Lagos and released debut album Kade in 2006, with title track video receiving nominations at AMEN Awards, Nigerian Music Video Awards, The Headies, and Sound City Music Video Awards. Performed at Star Trek tour in 2007. Released singles Amebo (2008) and African Juice (2009) ahead of second album The Woman in Question (2010). Nominated for four awards at 3rd Nigerian Music Video Awards in 2009. Contestant on Gulder Ultimate Search celebrity edition in 2010. Starred in Nollywood films including Last Dance (2006), Solid Affection (2008), Secret Code (2011), and The Code (2011). Released singles for Motherland album: Port Harcourt Is Back (2012), African Woman Skilashy (2012), Jikele (2013). Ran for Nigeria's House of Representatives in Ahoada East–Abua–Odual constituency in 2014 under Labour Party.
PERSONAL LIFE
Married actor Prince Eke in a traditional ceremony in Ahoada East and Ngor Okpala, followed by white wedding in Port Harcourt in December 2011. Gave birth to twins, a boy and a girl, on 18 April 2014, and third child, a daughter named Okwuluoka, on 18 August 2016. Later separated from husband Prince Eke. Resides in Port Harcourt.
