Mohamed Akkari

EARLY LIFE

Mohamed Akkari was born in 1978 in Tunisia. He entered Tunisian entertainment in the early-to-mid 2010s as both a screen actor and radio host.

CAREER

Akkari worked primarily in Tunisian television while also appearing in film and radio. PERSONAL LIFE

Akkari kept his private life largely out of the public eye. He remained professionally active in Tunisian television and radio until shortly before his death. He died on 28 April 2017 following surgery. His final filmed scene for the series Dawama (The Spiral) had been shot in Sfax about a week earlier. He was buried in the Mahdia Marine Cemetery, with attendance by fellow actors and fans. Colleague Rabaa Essefi publicly recalled their recent collaboration.

Mohamed Akkari was a familiar face in Tunisian popular television during the mid-2010s, balancing dramatic series roles with radio presenting. His appearance in Kaouther Ben Hania’s internationally recognized Beauty and the Dogs brought him additional visibility beyond local audiences. His sudden death in 2017 cut short a career that had been steadily expanding in both screen and broadcast work. He is remembered among Tunisian entertainment circles for his contributions to series such as Layem, Naouret El Hawa, Nsibti Laaziza, and Dawama.
