Milton Vilar was born on 1 September 1930 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. He began his career in radio before transitioning to stage and screen acting.
CAREER
Milton Vilar had a career spanning over two decades, appearing in various Brazilian films, often in supporting or character roles. He was active in both cinema and radio and also worked as a voice actor. Notable film appearances include, Barra Pesada (1977), Massacre em Caxias (1979), O Tesouro de Zapata (1968), Marajó, Barreira do Mar (1966), other films such as Sagarana: O Duelo (1974), Violência e Sedução (1979), and several Trapalhão comedies. Milton Vilar was in the 1978 film Black Goddess (originally titled A Deusa Negra). In this acclaimed Nigerian-Brazilian co-production directed by Ola Balogun, Vilar played the role of the Old Slave Trader. The film is celebrated as a historical drama that explores the Atlantic slave trade and cultural connections between Africa and Brazil. He was part of the Brazilian film industry during a period of significant output in popular cinema.
