EARLY LIFE

Mike Nliam is a veteran Nigerian actor, producer, director, and music composer who rose from humble beginnings in the Nigerian entertainment industry. He studied Agriculture at the University of Ilorin and later obtained a certificate in Film and Television Production from UCLA. His early career was shaped by a passion for both agriculture and the arts, leading him into Nollywood during its formative years in the 1990s. He quickly became involved in acting, appearing in numerous productions while also exploring music and production.

Mike Nliam is a multifaceted veteran of Nollywood, recognized as an actor, producer, director, songwriter, and composer. He has appeared in over 300 movies and played a pivotal role in shaping the industry’s soundscape in the mid-1990s by pioneering soundtrack creation and mood-setting techniques that amplified emotions in films. He composed and sang soundtracks for classic Nollywood movies, including Glamour Girls (1 and 2), Rituals, Died Wretched, End Time, Nneka the Pretty Serpent, Fatal Desire, Without Love, Extreme Measure, Tears for Love, and co-composed Sisters Love and Heart Beat. As a producer, he has worked on over 20 films, often collaborating with industry figures like Chico Ejiro and Zik Okafor. Notable productions include Silent Night, Nightmare, Dead End, Unforgettable, Fugitive, Face of A Liar, Player Numba 10, Blood Diamonds, and Assassin’s Practice. He directed Back to Life (1997) and served as a line producer for the TV series Deceptive Measures (produced by Zee Factory of Bombay). His TV credits also include work on series such as Oasis, Akpos & Company, and Mr. Wonderful. Nliam is the MD/CEO of Flavour Lab Entertainment Ltd, where he works as a content creator, producer, filmmaker, and songwriter. He is one half of the music duo Safari, known for hits like “One Day Ego Better” and “Yaapa.” He has a presence as a recording artist on platforms like Spotify. Additionally, he served as president emeritus of the Directors Guild of Nigeria (DGN).
