Biography

EARLY LIFE

Mbong Amata (née Odungide) was born on 21 September 1985. She launched her career in the entertainment industry of Nigeria at the age of 16 as a model. She was crowned beauty queen Miss Akwa Ibom in 2003 and was the second runner-up in Miss Nigeria 2004. In 2001, she met Jeta Amata at an audition in Calabar, and they began dating two years later when she was 18.

CAREER

Mbong Amata has appeared in films such as Black November, Forgetting June, and Inale. She has embraced daring roles that express her concern for human rights and social justice issues, staying true to her passion for filmmaking and storytelling. Her humanitarian efforts led to the creation of the Tickle-us Foundation, which supports less privileged women and children across Africa.

PERSONAL LIFE

Mbong Amata married Jeta Amata in 2008, and their daughter Veno was born later that year. They separated in 2013 and divorced in 2014. She divides her time between Los Angeles and Lagos.
