Matthew Yusuf

Matthew Yusuf, popularly known as Matolight, is an acclaimed, multi-award-winning Nigerian lighting designer and gaffer who is a prominent technical force in Nollywood. He is the founder and CEO of One House Lighting Crew, a leading technical collective responsible for illuminating high-profile African cinematic and stage productions. He won back-to-back Africa Magic Viewers' Choice Awards (AMVCA) for Best Lighting Designer in 2022 and 2023 (for Brotherhood). Yusuf has shaped the visual storytelling of several defining contemporary Nigerian blockbuster films, including Gangs of Lagos (2023), Brotherhood (2022), Christmas in Lagos (2024), Ayinla (2021), The Smart Money Woman TV Series (2024), and Juju Stories (2021).
