EARLY LIFE
Maryam Yahaya was born on July 17, 1997, in Goron Dutse, Kano, Nigeria. She completed her primary education in Yelwa and obtained her High School Certificate from Bokabo Barracks. From her childhood, Maryam harbored an ambition to act, drawing inspiration from the Hausa movies she watched. Despite her parents being strict and conformist regarding moral upbringings, she successfully convinced them to allow her to pursue a career in acting.
CAREER
Maryam Yahaya made her entry into the Kannywood industry independently. Her early films included Gidan Abinci, Barauniya, and Tabo, where she played minor roles. Her breakthrough came with a leading role in the movie Mansoor in 2016, a part originally intended for another actress. This role significantly boosted her fame. She was nominated as 'Best Promising Actress' by the City People Entertainment Awards in 2017 and subsequently as 'Best Actress' by the same awards in 2018. She has since starred in numerous films, establishing herself as a prominent actress in the Kannywood industry.
