EARLY LIFE
Mak Kusare is a graduate of the New York University TISCH School of Arts and an Alumnus of Produire Au Sud Nantes, France, and Producers Network, Cannes Film Festival.
CAREER
Mak Kusare is a Nigerian film director who won three awards for his first feature length film Ninety Degrees in 2006 at the Zuma Film Awards in Abuja, Nigeria. He wrote, directed and produced the film entirely on location in Jos, Nigeria. After college, he worked with the BBC World Service Trust as a director on the HIV/AIDS-awareness TV series “Wetin Dey” alongside other talented young filmmakers. He has produced and directed TV dramas, TV commercials, documentaries, and feature films. He is currently collaborating on multiple films and TV projects in Nigeria, including “Crime and Justice: Lagos”, a procedural TV drama series, now streaming on Showmax and showing on Multichoice.
