Laura Bernieri

Laura Bernieri is an American independent film producer, writer, and director who is heavily involved in the East Coast independent film community. She is best known for her work on the critically acclaimed drama Mother of George (2013) and for co-directing the music documentary Delta Rising: A Blues Documentary (2008). Bernieri served as an executive producer for Mother of George (2013). The film premiered at the Sundance Film Festival and captured the struggles of a Nigerian couple living in Brooklyn. She co-directed, co-wrote, and produced Delta Rising: A Blues Documentary (2008). The documentary focused on the blues culture of the Mississippi Delta. The film features prominent appearances by Morgan Freeman and Willie Nelson. She contributed to Next Stop Wonderland (1998). Bernieri worked as a co-executive producer alongside executive producer David Bowie on Passage to Paradise (1998).
