CAREER
Dr. Larinde Akinleye's contributions to the Nigerian film industry are notable. As a theater artist, his performances brought characters to life with depth and authenticity, resonating with audiences across the nation. His role in the iconic film Saworoide is a testament to his extraordinary talent. He was also a dedicated educator, believing in the transformative power of knowledge, inspiring, challenging, and nurturing generations. He was a guide, counselor, and father figure to many, offering wisdom and counsel.
PERSONAL LIFE
Dr. Akinleye's presence was deeply felt in Ipapo and the larger Oke-Ogun area, where he led by example through service to others. He passed away at the Intensive Care Unit of the University College Hospital, Ibadan, from severe injuries he sustained in a car accident two days prior on the Lagos–Ibadan Expressway. He was 56 years old at the time of his death. The crash occurred while he was driving his Mercedes-Benz to Babcock University. He was traveling there to return graded student examination scripts completed during his sabbatical leave.
