EARLY LIFE

Kayode Peters developed a passion for the arts early. He studied English at the University of Lagos before pursuing advanced education in the UK. He began his journey in the entertainment industry around the year 2000, shortly after graduation.

CAREER

KP Cypress was active in Nollywood for over two decades. He started as an actor and later became a prominent producer and director. He is best known for producing the popular comedy series My Flatmates, in which he also played the character “Koko.” He founded KP Cypress Films / KP Cypress Roots and produced, directed, and acted in numerous projects. His works include various comedies and dramas that entertained Nigerian audiences for many years. He was respected for mentoring talents and organizing auditions, including monologue competitions on Instagram.

PERSONAL LIFE

Kayode Peters lived a relatively private personal life. He later resided in Canada, where he continued his work in film production. He was known among colleagues as a passionate and dedicated professional in the industry.

Kayode Peters passed away on June 28, 2025, in Canada. His death was widely mourned in the Nollywood community. He is remembered as a versatile filmmaker who contributed significantly to Nigerian comedy and television content, especially through his long-running series Flatmates.
