EARLY LIFE
Khris Burton, also known as Christian Rodin, was born in French Guiana on February 29, 1980. He attended ESRA (Ecole Supérieure de Réalisation Audiovisuelle) in Paris, where he received training in cinematography, TV broadcasting, scriptwriting, and sound engineering. As a child, he was a music fan and later belonged to a musical band where he composed, directed, and performed.
CAREER
Khris Burton is an award-winning film and commercial director from Martinique, French West Indies. He gained recognition for directing music videos, receiving an award from the French Professional Music Association (SACEM) in 2011 for his 2009 music video 'Trêve de bavardages.' He has also directed commercials for over half a decade, winning awards in this field. Since 2013, Khris Burton’s international status has increased: his short movie 'Maybe Another Time' won People’s Choice Award, Top Rated, and Jury 1st Commendations at the 9th edition of Filminute. This made him the most awarded director in the history of the festival. The movie also won Best Narrative Ultra Short Award at the International Film Awards of Berlin (IFAB 2014). In 2015, his short film 'Nanny' won the People's Choice Award and Jury 2nd Commendation at the 10th edition of Filminute, and in 2016, it received the UK Screen one Best International Super Short award. His short film S0.CI3.TY (2016) was an official selection of the Pan African Film Festival in 2017. In 2019, he served as an educator at Parallel 14 Academy. He is the founder of Darers Films, a film production company based in Martinique, as well as HBK Motion Pictures in Nigeria. He is currently producing his upcoming film, 'Insensible'.
