Kemi Adekomi

EARLY LIFE

Kemi Adekomi is from the South-western part of Nigeria (Ogun state), but was born and bred in Lagos. She holds a B.Sc in Microbiology, having first bagged a Diploma in Science Laboratory Technology, both from Olabisi Onabanjo University (formerly known as Ogun State University). Her practice as a microbiologist was only brief at Drugfield Pharmaceuticals, after which she dumped the lab coat. She later joined a print media organization (RealWorld media) as an editor, and after a while, moved on to a health insurance company (Healthcare International), where she eventually resigned from '8 to 5' in year 2010 to pursue her dreams as an entrepreneur.

CAREER

Kemi Adekomi always had a passion for interior design, evident from her space arrangement ingenuity as a growing child. She pursued it full-time by studying Interior Design at the Prestigious MAVEN school of interior Design, and thereafter started her interior design company. Subsequently, she also pursued her passion for media and entertainment, which she had previously started in the University around 2004. After graduating and working for several years, she went on to study Broadcasting at the prestigious National Broadcast Academy (formerly Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, FRCN) where she sharpened her media and public speaking skills, becoming a professional Master of Ceremonies. She joined UNILAGFm radio station as a news reader and hosted her weekly show as an OAP. She also attended movie auditions to revive her acting career, which she had put on hold in 2006. She played numerous 'extra' roles until she shot into limelight in 2018 and has since featured in over 40 films. In 2019, she started her second business, KEMISTRYDIVA PRODUCTIONS, and delved into film production, with films such as VENDETTA, THE LAST STRAW, DEAD GIRL, THE END GAME, PLAN B, DARK CLOUDS, HELL and FURY, UNLEASHED, and THE TEST to her credit. Some of these are award-winning films, which she has produced and/or directed. As an MC, she has compered many VIP events, creating a niche for herself in the corporate world. She is a method actor, a melanin-popping screen goddess who interprets roles believably, and a multiple award-winning actress. She is also a voice-over artiste with top-notch diction, clarity, and voice delivery, having voiced for several corporate bodies and individuals. As an award-winning film producer/director, her films have received local and international recognition in the Nigerian film industry. She is a lover of mastery and has undergone several trainings, workshops, and seminars to polish and build herself in her chosen professions.

PERSONAL LIFE

Kemi Adekomi is a relentless learner and ever thirsty for knowledge. A lover of children, she started an advocacy group that campaigns against child sexual abuse, Olukemi Advocacy Move Against Child Sexual Abuse (MACSA), and has been at the forefront of the fight against this menace. She is currently a multiple award-winning actor, a multiple award-winning film producer/director, a corporate MC/Host, a voice-over artiste, a Supernumerary police officer, a Certified Private Detective/Investigator, a child advocate, and a philanthropist. She is a member of various professional guilds and associations, including the Association of Certified Forensic Intelligence and Crime Analysts (ACFICA), International Association of Chiefs of Police, USA, Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN, former PRO, Lagos), Association of Movie Producers (AMP), Directors Guild of Nigeria (DGN), Association of Voice-Over Artistes (AVOA), and African Women in leadership Organization (AWLO).
