EARLY LIFE

John Tumeun hails from Benue State, Nigeria. He developed a strong passion for filmmaking and storytelling, eventually establishing himself in the Nollywood industry.

CAREER

John Tumeun is the CEO and Founder of Shanpepe Films. He is a versatile filmmaker who works as a director, producer, writer, and actor. He is particularly active in creating Tiv cultural content and mainstream Nollywood projects. Notable works include, A Moment, I Remember (2022), The Political Thug, No Biscuits in Heaven. Various other productions under Shanpepe Films, including Tiv-language films such as Komatii U Kuu (Burial Committee). He also runs Tiv Youth Square and frequently creates content that promotes Benue culture and Nollywood storytelling. He has experience as an acting coach and has been active in the industry since at least 2011.

PERSONAL LIFE

John Tumeun is a husband and father. He describes himself as a family man, free thinker, and entrepreneur. He keeps most aspects of his family life private while occasionally sharing professional and personal insights on social media.

John Tumeun is recognized for bridging Tiv cultural narratives with broader Nollywood audiences. He is passionate about film production, youth development through arts, and high-quality storytelling.
