Biography
EARLY LIFE
At a younger age, Jemilla Suleman figured out what she wanted to do with her life, wanting to be a writer and be on television. Her earliest memory of writing dates back to primary school in class three, where she used to write short stories for her classmates. She attended Labone Senior High School in Accra and holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Cape Coast. She is the first child of two children born to Mr A.B. Suleman and Ms Emma Ameka. She is a Christian.
CAREER
Jemilla Suleman began her screenwriting career after her national service with a real estate firm in Accra, about two years prior to May 2022. She is known for writing movies such as 'Savannah' (2021), 'A Christmas Thrill' (2024), 'Faith Beyond Fate' (2020), 'Trilateral' (2022), 'Mastermind' (2025), 'Stranger's Bomb' (2025), 'Censored' (2024), and 'Hog-Tie' (2022). She started acting as an undergraduate student at the University of Cape Coast, making her debut as a journalist in the movie 'The Beast'. She has featured in other local productions, including 'Peep', 'Dede', and 'Twisted Tips', and the TV series 'Shampaign' (2016-2018). As a TV host, she co-hosted shows such as 'Rendezvous' on Atinka Television, 'The Arena Show' on Kwese TV, and 'The Celebrity Fan Show' on GH-One TV. She believes that more cinemas in the country would benefit film producers, cast, and crew. She emphasizes the importance of film as a tool for cultural change and propagating societal norms and values. Her future plans include pursuing professional courses to fine-tune her writing skills, exploring other forms of writing like journalism, and learning directing.
