EARLY LIFE
Jafta Mamabolo was born on 21 December 1987 in Limpopo, South Africa. He attended the National School of Arts and studied drama. He also pursued a course in fashion designing.
CAREER
Jafta Mamabolo is a South African actor and filmmaker. He gained recognition for his roles in films like Freedom, Gangster's Paradise: Jerusalema, and Otelo Burning. In 2008, he played 'Young Kunene' in Jerusalema, his debut film. In 2011, he took the lead role in Otelo Burning, which received multiple nominations at the African Movie Academy Awards and Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards. He also appeared in Ayanda (2015) and Kalushi: The Story of Solomon Mahlangu (2016). Beyond cinema, he worked as a presenter on TV shows such as 'The Molo show', 'Craze E', and 'Knock knock', and joined the cast of the youth drama program Soul Buddyz. He played 'Matthew' in the soapie Generations in 2011. After a hiatus, he returned in 2021 with the film Freedom, for which he wrote, directed, and acted. The film was a success in South Africa.
PERSONAL LIFE
Jafta Mamabolo is fluent in several languages and has worked with radio stations like Motsweding FM, Lesedi FM, Ukhozi FM, and Thobela FM. His other passion is fashion designing.
