Biography
EARLY LIFE
Innocent Ujah Idibia was born on September 18, 1975, in Jos, Nigeria. He is from the Idoma ethnic group in the southern part of Benue State. He attended Mount Saint Gabriel's Secondary School in Makurdi and later enrolled at the Institute of Management & Technology (IMT) in Enugu, where he obtained a National Diploma in Business Administration and Management. It was during his time at IMT that he began performing at school-organized shows and parties.
CAREER
2Baba started his professional career as a member of the trio 'Plantashun Boiz' alongside Blackface and Faze. The group released two successful albums before disbanding in 2004. He launched his solo career with the album 'Face 2 Face', featuring the global hit 'African Queen'. Over two decades, he has released several critically acclaimed albums including 'Grass 2 Grace', 'The Unstoppable', and 'Warriors'. He is widely regarded as one of the most decorated and influential Afro-pop artists in Africa.
PERSONAL LIFE
In May 2012, 2Face Idibia married Nigerian actress and model Annie Macaulay in a private ceremony in Lagos. He is a father to seven children from three different women: Annie Idibia, Pero Adeniyi, and Sumbo Adeoye. He is deeply involved in humanitarian work through the 2Baba Foundation and was appointed as a UNHCR Goodwill Ambassador in 2020.
