Biography
EARLY LIFE
Ikenna Aniekwe was born in Enugu, Nigeria. He developed a strong interest in storytelling and filmmaking from a young age. Before fully entering the film industry, he first pursued engineering and obtained a Bachelor of Engineering degree from Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka.
CAREER
Ikenna Aniekwe is a prolific Nollywood director and screenwriter. He has written and directed over 100 films, mostly during the late 2000s and early 2010s video film era. Some of his notable works include, Act of Faith (2008), Palace Maid (2009), Royal Tears, Parish House (2010), Room Service (2010), A Walk in the Dark (2010), Heart of a Saint, Ordinary Fellows (2019 – co-directed). He is respected for his storytelling skills and contribution to Nollywood. After achieving success in filmmaking, he pursued law and graduated with First Class honours from the University of the West of England in 2015. He was called to the Nigerian Bar and later continued advanced legal studies in Canada. He is one of the few Nollywood filmmakers who successfully transitioned into a legal career while maintaining ties to the industry.
Ikenna Aniekwe keeps his personal and family life relatively private. He is known as a focused and multi-talented professional who successfully combined a career in entertainment with legal education. He currently lives and works in Canada.
