Biography

EARLY LIFE

Born in Jos, Plateau State, Ife Olujuyigbe experienced a childhood in two phases. The first was in Jos with her three creative siblings, where they turned simple objects into grand adventures and participated in her mom's Bible Club, fostering creativity. The second phase began after relocating to the Southwest when her siblings went to university and her mom worked in another state. She struggled with Yoruba fluency and turned inward, reading and writing obsessively. Despite her parents' insistence on stability and success, she studied Chemical Engineering at Obafemi Awolowo University, Ife, but her love for the arts kept resurfacing.

CAREER

Ife Olujuyigbe transitioned from Chemical Engineering to film criticism, relentlessly reviewing Nollywood films for True Nollywood Stories. She then moved into scriptwriting, production, and directing in Nollywood. Her first Nollywood gig during her youth service involved producing two short films, one of which, 'Parting Gift,' was selected for the African International Film Festival (AFRIFF). Later, she oversaw three TV film productions: 'Make It or Break It,' 'Killing Daisy,' and 'The Keeper.' She also worked as a production manager on her first big-screen film, 'The Trade.' Her credits as a writer or producer include 'Reel Love' (2025), 'Ègún' (2023), 'Obara’M' (2022), 'Something Like Gold' (2023), 'Road to Spotlight' (2022), 'Roles Reversed' (2022), 'Ile Owo' (2022), 'Sisi London' (2024), and 'What About Us?' (2024). She received formal training through Chris Ihidero's Story Story masterclass and a TV writing/screenwriting course at Lagos Film Academy. She emphasizes learning by doing, crediting Jade Osiberu for valuable hands-on experience. She directed additional scenes for her show 'When Are We Getting Married?' and later directed scenes in Timini Egbuson’s film 'Reel Love'.

PERSONAL LIFE

For Ife Olujuyigbe, there is no real separation between her personal life and her filmmaking; they flow into each other naturally. She views filmmaking as an extension of who she is, with her life experiences, relationships, and hobbies feeding into her creativity and storytelling. She makes time for her family, friends, and creative pursuits like music, painting, and drawing, considering these essential for balance and inspiration.
