EARLY LIFE
Born in London, England, Ibejii was raised between Northern Nigeria and the United Kingdom. He grew up with his siblings and experienced a sense of abandonment due to his parents' frequent separations. He studied law at university and has a twin brother. His musical influences include rock, jùjú, electronic music, jazz, and R&B, stemming from a musical household and Yoruba culture.
CAREER
Ibejii's stage name is inspired by being a twin. He debuted in 2016 with the single "Ayanfe". In 2017, he released his first two studio albums, GreenWhiteDope 001 and GreenWhiteDope 002. Subsequent albums include Tribal Marks (2018), MSML (Music Saved My Life) (2019), Ìlù Ìlú (2020), and Intermission (2021). 'Intermission' won the Best Alternative Album at the Headies Awards of 2022, and his song "Gonto" was nominated for Best Alternative Song the same year. His music has been featured in Nollywood films like The Wedding Party, Catch.er, and Chief Daddy. In 2022, he released his seventh album, POST-19. Ibejii also founded "The Ibejii Live Experience," an annual music festival.
