EARLY LIFE
Hauwa Garba was born in the Bichi local government area of Kano State. Her father is from Katsina state, while her mother is from Kano. She attended Gwamai Primary School in Badume Bichi but dropped out of secondary school to get married. Her first marriage ended in divorce after her first child. After the divorce, she relocated to Kano and stayed with her mother.
CAREER
Hauwa Garba began her acting career after some friends from Katsina introduced her to stage drama. She continued to work with her ex-husband in acting without grudges. She adopted the stage name 'Yar Auta because of her small physique, being the smallest in her class. The character 'Yar Auta was her personal creation to manage her public recognition. She has featured in numerous films, including 'Yan Uku Uku, Sakarkaru, and Bita Zai-zai. Her role as Sabura in the TV series Gidan Badamasi further increased her popularity.
