Biography

Halima Hudson was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois. Her passion for storytelling began in seventh grade, leading her to pursue screenwriting as a career. She moved to Los Angeles in 2009 to further her ambitions in the film industry, initially working as a freelance production assistant and writer.

Halima Hudson is an accomplished American screenwriter and creative executive with a long career at Walt Disney Animation Studios, where she joined in 2011. She started as a production secretary on Wreck-It Ralph and progressed through various roles, including assistant to directors on Frozen, Big Hero 6, and Moana. She later served as executive administrative support on Ralph Breaks the Internet, voiced a character (Halima) and worked in creative relations on Frozen II, and acted as manager of creative relations on Raya and the Last Dragon, Encanto, and Strange World. She also contributed to creative leadership on Wish. Her most notable contribution is co-writing the screenplay for the Disney+ animated series Iwájú (2024) alongside Olufikayo Ziki Adeola.
