EARLY LIFE
Haillie Sumney, also known as Ghana Goddess, is a Canadian-born, California-raised Ghanaian actress. She studied Nursing at the Summit Career College and is a graduate of Riverside University, California. She also worked as a nurse at the Riverside Hospital and a few healthcare agencies in the United States of America. Her parents were both missionaries and have owned an NGO named Mission Africa Inc for more than 20 years, and she grew up in a humanitarian background.
CAREER
Due to her passion for TV and the entertainment industry, Haillie pursued acting in Africa making her debut in the series “Heels and Sneakers.” Her performance led to roles in projects including “Real Lagos Fake Life” on Netflix, “A Way Back Home” on Netflix, and “Kintampo” on African Magic, 'Eden' on Google Play and Amazon Prime, 'A Woman's Scorn' on IROKOtv and Rok on Dstv, and the comedy ‘2 Days After Friday’. She launched her TV hosting career with an entertainment news and health tip show on Ghana’s largest music and entertainment TV station, 4syte TV. She was also the red carpet host for the 2018 BET Awards in Hollywood, USA. Behind the cameras, Haillie also works in real estate and the oil and gas industry.
PERSONAL LIFE
As the founder of the Haillie Sumney Foundation, she has carried out several philanthropic activities across communities in Ghana. She has also collaborated with her parents to build schools and carry out entrepreneurial skills development workshops. She has two brothers who are musicians, Moses Sumney and Nhyira Sumney (aka Shizzle).
